The house

We only sell watches we'd wear

J&E is a curated auction house for collector timepieces. Every lot is vetted before it opens, inspected by an independent authentication center before money moves, and held in escrow until the seller confirms payment.

ICurated, not listedEvery submission is reviewed by hand. We decline more than we accept — a thin catalogue of good watches beats a deep one of anything.
IIIndependently checkedWe don't grade our own lots. A third-party authentication center verifies every component against the reference and issues a written report the buyer reads before paying.
IIINobody pays a strangerThe watch sits in the vault until the seller confirms the buyer's transfer. Then, and only then, it ships — insured for full value.
IVFees you can see5% buyer's premium, $49 to the seller when a lot sells. No listing fee, no commission, no surprises.

Why we built it

Buying a watch at distance means trusting a photograph and a stranger's description. Most platforms solve that with reviews and hope. We solve it with a process: a human reviews the lot, an independent specialist inspects it, and the money and the watch never sit on the same side of the table.

How a sale runs

Sellers submit; we review within a business day and schedule accepted lots for a 7-day sale. Bidding uses maximum bids, so you set a ceiling once and the system bids for you. A bid in the final 2 minutes extends the clock, so nothing is won by sniping. After the hammer, the watch goes to authentication, the buyer reads the report, pays by bank transfer, and the vault releases it.

Who we are

A small team of collectors running sales the way we'd want them run: honest catalogue notes, photographs that show the wear as well as the shine, and a comment thread where the consignor answers questions in public.
